The Zala Hills with their beauty, the quiet forests, the excellent game population as well as the friendliness of the staff have convinced many guests to visit. We hope that the hunters, who visit this area, will return home with many hunting experiences, well rested and with big trophies, and that they will want to come back again to experience more hunting adventures.
The Zalaedő Company lies in western Hungary in the Zala Hills and stretches from the village of Bak to the Slovenian border. This huge company manages the biggest oak and beech forest in Hungary. The Zalaerdő hunting area is almost 64,200 hectares. The most important game species are red deer and wild boars. A land holding on this scale offers the Zalaerdő J.S.C. the possibility for extensive, long-term game management. The quality of the red deer in this area is worldfamous. The stags in this area reach an age of 14-16 years when their enormous antlers obtain the biggest size. Roe and fallow deer also live in the Zala forests. The trophy size is correspondingly smaller. Between 1997 and 2000 four wild boar fenced areas were built, with over 200 wild boars in each area. The hunting area is managed by five forestry offices. In one area the shooting is leased. Each Forestry Department has one or two hunting lodges where guests are offered excellent accommodation and meals in a family atmosphere.
